An Editorial Board comprised of publishers and managers from seven geographically-diverse newspapers participating in the SmallTownPapers program was created to establish the journalistic criteria for publishing articles on the news service. Q: What types of articles are distributed through STPNS?
A: STPNS distributes information including news and feature articles, local events, obituaries, photographs, sports statistics, vital statistics, RFP and legal notices.
Q: Do the articles go through a review before being distributed?
A: Yes, news and feature articles are Peer Reviewed prior to distribution to ensure the credibility and integrity of the news service. Trained Peer Reviewers, selected from participating newspapers, review news articles/features for quality and accuracy prior to distribution.
Q: How does STPNS work?
A: Publishers upload articles onto the STPNS site then information distributors or others who have contracted with the news service are able to retrieve the uploaded information up to 12 times a day and provide that fresh content to the world. Internet users see the new headline and can read the item or visit the original source by going to the SmallTownPapers website.
