WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Esther Joyce Paplow

    Funeral services for Esther Joyce Paplow will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Dundee.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.  Interment is in First Lutheran Cemetery in Dundee.  Online condolences may be sent via www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  

    Esther, 84 of Westbrook, formerly Dundee, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center.  



    Esther was born October 10, 1928 in Sibley, IA to Henry and Katherine (Janssen) Weets.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  Esther attended Lime Lake Country School near Avoca. March 23, 1947 Esther was united in marriage to Raymond Paplow in Heron Lake.  The couple lived and farmed near Dundee until 1990 when they moved to Westbrook. Esther entered the Fulda Nursing Home September 30, 2009.  October 23, 2009 she moved to Westbrook Good Samaritan.  Esther was a member of the Red Hat Society and First Lutheran Church in Dundee where she was active in Ladies Aid, quilting club, and Bible study.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and baking brownies, banana bread, and other wonderful goodies.  Esther loved watching the boy’s wrestling matches, Dundee boy’s softball tournament, the Vikings and Twins, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed fishing.  

    Survivors include her children: James (Shari) Paplow, Dundee, Donald (Paula) Paplow, Dundee, Linda (John) Madson, Westbrook, Ronald (Suzie) Paplow, Dundee, and Lee (Tisha) Paplow, Dundee; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren: Taelor, Ella, and Ava Leonelli, Jenna, Blake, Sophie, and Halle Paplow, and Raymond Paplow; brothers: Richard (Mabel) Weets, Lakefield, Rev. Raymond (Joann) Weets, Des Moines, IA, Roger (Marcia) Weets, Lake Wilson, and Robert (Gail) Weets, Holland; sisters-in-law: Lois Stark, Eagle Grove, IA and Alice Weets, Tyler.  

    Preceding her in death wwere her parents; husband Raymond in 2003;  siblings Geraldine, Lawrence, Ramona, Henry, Frank, Marjorie, and Jerry.  

Eugene LeRoy Anderson

    Funeral services were held for Eugene Anderson Friday, January 4, 2013 at the American Lutheran Church, Windom, MN. Pastor Tim Wrenn officiated. Burial was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom, MN

    Eugene LeRoy Anderson was born on January 10, 1932, in Lakefield, MN to Lester and Luella (Hohenstein) Anderson. He was baptized at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Delafield Township, Minnesota and later confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lakefield, MN. He received his education from Lakefield Public School where he graduated with the Class of 1951.

    On May 4, 1957, Gene was united in marriage to Myrna Baarstad at Trinity Lutheran Church, Westbrook, Minnesota. After their marriage, Gene and Myrna lived in Windom, MN where Gene worked as a foreman at Toro from 1952 until 1976. He also managed the Windom Country Club and the Loon Lake Golf Club. Gene worked at Coast to Coast and Gordy's. In 1971, Gene became disabled due to an accident and in September of 2012, Gene moved into the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom where he lived until he died Sunday morning, December 30, 2012 at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 80.

    Gene was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Windom; Lions Club and the Eagle's Club. Gene enjoyed golfing, trapping, hunting, playing cards, along with his family, especially his grandchildren; mornings at the senior center having coffee and playing cards.

    Survivors include his  wife Myrna Anderson, Windom;  children, Janet Anderson (Mike), Windom; Gary (Kelly) Anderson, Windom; Brad (Tammy) Anderson, Winnebago; and Angela Rais, Rosemount; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Ron (Alice) Anderson, Austin; Les (Colleen) Anderson, Cottonwood, CA; and Curt (Edna) Anderson, Fresco, TX;  sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson of Les Summit, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Veronica Anderson; and brother, Maurice Anderson.

June A. Hendrix

    Funeral services for June A. Hendrix were held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, Crystal, MN. Private interment Sunset Cemetery.

    June, 88, of Golden Valley died January 1, 2013.

    She was a dedicated homemaker, talented designer and seamstress. She enjoyed traveling and loved playing bridge. she was a member of Calvary Lutheran church, Golden Valley.

    Survivors include her husband, Thomas; sons Todd (Angie) and Timm; grandchildren: Jesse (Forbes), Joshua, Sarah (Cody); great grandchildren: Carter, Kaiya, Kacie June, Joseph and Tommie Lee; sister Kathryn Westby brother Lee (Helen) Peterson, Westbrook; special niece Wendy McKenzie; other relatives and friends.

    Preceding her in death was a daughter, Jodie.
