Prairie Winds Art FestivalWWG Elementary students experienced a wide variety of arts at the festival
WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- WWG — Last Thursday over a dozen presenters of several arts put on hands on demonstrations to WWG Elementary students. Angie Horkey presented a workshop on scrap book stamping. Darrell Allen presented a drawing class using colored pencils to produce science art. Tina Richards worked with students to create art using clay. Connie Peterson held a class on yarn weaving. Jeff Meyers gave karate classes at the community center. Ann Jenniges gave a workshop on creative dance. The children’s museum gave classes on foil printing. Musical storyteller Lonesome Ron played guitar and told stories about the old west. Anita Runck got kids moving with her dance class. Mary Jo Pauly showed the kids how to make pop up books. Ed Fornberg showed the kids how to make paper portraits. Ron Kelsey taught the kids how to make art out of seeds. Sue Redman helped kids make paper masks. During the day there was an art show in the small gym showing art work of the elementary school. Groups were also bussed to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum to tour the grounds.
