WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Leona Marion Carlson Tietz

Leona, 71, Morgan, MN, formerly of Windom died February 15, 2014, at her home.
Leona was born May 1, 1942 in Darfur, MN, the daughter of Albert and Edna (Jensen) Carlson. She was baptized on Oct 25, 1942. She grew up on the family farm near Darfur. She attended school in Comfrey. She was united in marriage to Leonard G. Tietz on April 25, 1962 at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield and the American Lutheran Church in Windom and was attending services at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Morgan. Leona enjoyed her work at Minn-Tex in Windom. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. In her leisure time Leona could be found gardening, canning, playing cards, researching genealogy, or baking her famous buns. She was honored as volunteer of the month in May of 2013 at Gil-Mor Manor.
Survivors include her husband – Leonard, Morgan; children Richard (Dawn) Tietz, Morgan and their children – Megan, Lucas, Amber, Becca, and Kegan; Jan (Dan) Fennern, Cannon Falls, MN and their children – Brittany and Colin; Julie Nelson (friend Mike), Superior, IA and her children – Kristina (fiancé Jeremy), Kayla, Elijah, Jessica, Katelyn, and William; Jeanie (Steve) Rasche, Heron Lake, MN and their children – Alexa (Anthony) Jonhson, Michaela, Madison, Jacob Lundgren, Claire and Emma; sisters – Loretta Amsden, Springfield; Violet Anderson, St. James, Eileen (Ray) King, Lawrence, KS; a brother – Arnold “Junie” Carlson, Darfur; and a sister-in-law – Ilene Carlson, St. James.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son-in-law Tim Nelson; grandson Andrew Fennern; brother Donald Carlson; and brothers-in-law Stan Amsden and Verne Anderson.
