WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Bernard Orin Fultz

Funeral services for Bernard Orin Fultz were held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Tracy Lutheran Church, Tracy, MN.  Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Tracy Area Medical Foundation, Tracy Area Education Foundation, or Tracy Lutheran Church building fund.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.

    Bernard, 87, of Tracy died Sunday, February 23, 2014.  

    Bernard O. Fultz was born November 5, 1926 in Tracy, MN to Homer and Ruth (Addison) Fultz.  He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1944, enlisted in the United States Army Air Force, and served until 1945.  On October 20, 1946 Bernie was united in marriage to Eleanor Freeburg of Walnut Grove.  The couple spent their lives farming in the Tracy area and raising their family.  Bernie’s life was growing a family farm to include his sons and grandsons.  As a progressive farmer he was open to looking at innovative and new approaches to enhance farming.  He and Eleanor enjoyed attending numerous community events and supporting school activities.  Bernie attended and was active in Trinity Lutheran of Walnut Grove and Tracy Lutheran Church.  He was involved in Toast Masters, served as clerk of Springdale Township, and was on the Federal Land Bank Board of Redwood Falls.  He was also a leader of the Springdale Climber’s 4-H Club, and most recently enjoyed serving with the Tracy Lions.

    Survivors include his wife Eleanor; children: Dennis (Linda), Tracy, Dean, Tracy, Laura (Steve) Iverson, Montrose, CO, Ann (Kurt) Gramith, Big Lake, and Eric (Sandra) Fultz, Tracy; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Charles (Clara) Fultz, Hope, AK, Pauline Hemmingsen, Grand Island, NE, Edna Lessman, Lamberton, and Don (Eunice) Fultz, Shoreview, and sister-in-law Evelyn (Russell) Buterbaugh, Tracy.  

    Preceding him in death were his parents Homer and Ruth Fultz; son Kirk; great grandson Jack Iverson.
