WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Westbrook — Last week Lodge Master Mike Simon and Jerry Thompson of Storden presented a check of $3,460 to pantry manager Kathy Zens. The money is a part of the money raised by the Masonic Lodge.
The money came from donation jars distributed by the lodge members in the area businesses. The Masons collected a total of $7,106 in their fund drive. These contributions were doubled by a grant from the Minnesota Masonic Charities, which is the Philanthropic arm of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons for a total of $14,213.96.
Food shelves benefitting from the donations were Mary and Martha’s Pantry; Sharing Center in Windom; Food Assistance Short Term, Jackson, and Lakefield; and the Food Shelf in Heron Lake Okabena.
Mike Simon Windom Master of the Lodge, expressed his pride in the members who took on this challenge. “We were thrilled to take advantage of this matching fund grant offered by the Minnesota Masonic Charities and to help the residents of our area,” said Simon.
