WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Bruce K. Rhubee

    Funeral services for Bruce K. Rhubee were held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jeffers, MN. Burial followed in Jeffers Cemetery in Jeffers, MN.

    Bruce, 58, died Tuesday,  April 1, 2014, at the Sanford Hospital, Sioux Fall, SD.

    Bruce was born on October 20, 1955 in Norfolk Fakenham, England to Darrell and Anita (Oleson) Rhubee. He was baptized at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden and later confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Whittemore, Iowa. Bruce received his education in the Storden-Jeffers Public Schools; graduating from the Storden-Jeffers High School in the Class of 1973.



    On August 1, 1981, Bruce was united in marriage to Janice Duggen at the Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Through the years, Bruce farmed, ran his own custom shelling business, was a custodian and bus driver for the Storden-Jeffers Public Schools and was a heavy equipment operator for the Cottonwood County Highway Department.

    Bruce was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeffers. He was a member of the Sun Valley Gun Club in rural Windom. Bruce had many enjoyments in life   his love for all seasons, including, fishing, football and hunting; being a passionate Vikings fan with every Sunday in the fall as Family Vikings Day; their yearly trip to Alf's cabin on Juergens Lake near Sauk Centre; and grilling, gardening, camping and most of all, being Papa.

    Survivors include his wife Jan Rhubee, rural Jeffers; children, Amber (Nic) Danielson, Jackson; Jed (Anna) Rhubee, Jeffers; two grandchildren; mother, Anita Rhubee, Jeffers; siblings, Dixie (Steve) Severson, Westbrook; Michael Rhubee, Minneapolis; Todd (Wendy) Rhubee, Windom; Kyle Rhubee, Jeffers; mother-in-law, Mavis Duggen, Westbrook; nieces and nephews.

    Preceding him in death were his father, Darrell Rhubee; father-in-law, Bill Duggen; nephew, Jeremiah Johnson; grandparents, Kenneth and Charlotte Rhubee and Elmer and Alice Oleson.
