WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- westbrook — According to the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s office, local contractor David Eugene Pederson 62, was killed early Sunday morning when he was partially ejected from the vehicle he was driving.
He and his wife, Beverly, 46, were driving north on County Road 7 just south of the curve by Oaks Lake eight miles south of Westbrook.
Pederson lost control of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring on the curve just north of the driveway 39406, at the Gene Olsem farm. The vehicle flipped over and came to rest upside down in the east ditch just north of the driveway.
Pederson was partially ejected out the rear window of the vehicle. Pederson's passenger Beverly was wearing her seat belt and able to get free and was able to go up the driveway to get help at the Gene Olsem farm.
David Pederson was pronounced dead at the scene. Beverly Pederson was taken to Sanford Medical Center Westbrook by the Westbrook Ambulance where she was treated and released.
