WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Patricia Jensen
Memorial services for Patricia Jensen were held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Patricia Jensen, 89, Granite Falls, died April 20, 2014, at the Granite Falls Manor.
Ruth Patricia “Pat” (Rupp) Jensen was born August 18, 1924, in Westbrook, MN, on the family farm. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Pat graduated from the Westbrook High School. Following high school she started nurses training, until it was postponed due to World War II.
Pat was united in marriage to Robert G. Jensen on October 13, 1943, at her parents' home in Westbrook. Pat moved to New York City to be near her husband while his ship was in dry dock for repairs. While in New York she worked at Macy's Department Store. Following Robert's honorable discharge from the Navy, they moved back to Westbrook. To this union six children were born: Susan Kathy, Michael Robert, Gary Lee, Richard Allan, James Edmund and Penelope Ruth.
During her life Pat worked as a receptionist for Dr. Carlson and was in a partnership with her brother James running a restaurant and drive inn. Pat and Bob owned and operated Jensen's Hillside Motor Court for 41 years. Her biggest job was raising six children.
Survivors include her children: Susan Kathy Johnson (Theodore) of Granite Falls; Michael Robert Jensen (Colleen Gibbs) of Mound; Richard Allan Jensen of Lakeville; James Edmund Jensen of Edina; Penelope Ruth “Penny” Paulson (Dan) of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters-in-law: Patricia Loppnow of Amarillo, Texas and Diane Rupp of Minneapolis; daughters-in-law: Marsha Kouchar, Gayle Nellermoe and Cindy Swang.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son Gary Lee, brother James Rupp and sister Jean Takle.
