WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Walnut Grove — When the Wilder Museum committee planned their most recent museum upgrades, it was planned to add 12 old fashioned street lamps on the perimeter of the museum grounds. However a funding source was not put in place at the time, so they were put on the back burner.
After a bit of brain storming the committee decided to see if people would like to purchase a light in memory of, or in honor of loved ones.
Museum director Amy Ankrum said, “we had no trouble selling the 12 lights.” The lights are an old fashion street lamp style and are eight feet tall.
Sunday, May 25 Memorial Day weekend a special dedication of the “Walk of Lights” will be held at the Wilder Museum beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Board president James Kleven will be the emcee for the program prior to the lighting ceremony. At eight o’clock the lighting will take place.
The public is invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
