WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Orville E. “Bud” Carlson

    Memorial services for Orville E. “Bud” Carlson will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Alliance Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.

    Orville, 84, Redwood Falls, formerly of Dovray, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale due to complications of a stroke.  

    Orville Carlson was born October 10, 1929 in Dovray, MN to Earl and Ida (Nostegard) Carlson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Dovray.  Bud attended grade school in Dovray, graduated from Westbrook High School in 1947, and attended Luther College for one year.  After his schooling, he joined the US Army Tank Corps, and later joined the Army Reserves.  On August 16, 1952 Bud married Yolanda Stymiest and the family lived in Dovray for 20 years.  They also resided in Norfolk, NE, Westbrook, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas moving to Redwood Falls in June 2007.  Bud was a faithful member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Dovray and Kiwanis.  He was very active supporting youth as Big Brother and Big Buddies.  He enjoyed outdoor activities.  Bud loved fishing trips to Canada and traveling.  He and Londa traveled to 16 foreign countries and throughout the United States.  Bud’s love was spending time with his family and friends.  

    Survivors include his wife Londa; daughters: Nancy Revier, Redwood Falls, Carmalee (Bob) Ochu, Coon Rapids, Terri Carlson, Redwood Falls, and Wendy (Scott) Dieter, Rochester; five grandchildren: Jeremiah Dagel, Jody (Dan) Blackburn, Abby (Eric) Sahnow, Sarah (Matt) Haggerty, and Emily (Alex) Baxley; sister Phyllis Vosberg of Tracy; and many nieces and nephews.  

    Preceding him in death were his parents Earl and Ida Carlson, great nephew Marshall Muzechenko, son-in-law Gary Revier, and brother-in-law Jay Vosberg.
