WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Dorothy Clift

    A celebration of life was held for Dorothy (Dot) Clift at Cook Southland funeral Chapel in Medicine Hat, Canada Thursday, August 7, 2014

    Dot died at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Saturday, August 2, 1014.

    Dot was born January 13, 1941 in Slayton, MN to August and Ethel Cohrs. Dot lived her first four years on a farm in Cottonwood County. The family then moved to Westbrook, MN where she attended school through 12th grade. She attended college in Minneapolis. Her and Bob Clift were married July 15, 1960 in Sylvania Presbyterian Church. They lived on a farm in Sylvania from 1960 to 1964, at which time they moved into Tisdale were Bob started L&C Electric. Dot worked in a variety of jobs from waitressing at the Shell House, bookkeeper at Beehive and John Deere, was sales rep for Beeland Co-op and Sears and finally a secretary and bookkeeper for Bob at L&C Electric and now C& C Electric.

    Dot was involved in the community, especially with Kinettes as a past president. She was a volunteer as a board member for Tisdale Housing Authority for numerous years. She enjoyed travel, reading, sewing, listening to music, and cherished her time with her family. She also enjoyed hockey, curling, bowling, football, ringette and dancing. Dot was always there to lend a hand if needed. Over the years she has touched the lives of over 20 foster children.

    Survivors include her husband, Bob; children - Karen (Hal), Kelly (Vicky), Keon (Janey) and Yumi; grandchildren - Andrea (Brad), Andrew (Denise), Aaron (Courtney, Robin (Brittany), Richelle, Mikai and Martyn; great-grandchildren - Cole, Taylor, Kennedy, McKenna, Kinley, and Maddox; sisters - Dawn (Aryln) Wahl, Diane (Bernard) Balling and their families; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, August and Ethel; Bobís parents Arthur and Lillian Clift.
