OBITUARY
Brandon Oldenkamp
HULL, Iowa (STPNS) -- Brandon Craig Oldenkamp, the son of Robert and Linda (Nieuwsma) Oldenkamp, was born on January 16, 1989 in Primghar. He spent his childhood on the family farm near Sanborn, attended Sanborn Christian Grade School and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull, in 2007. He was about to enter his senior year at Dordt College in Sioux Center. Equipped with a deep, abiding faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, Brandon chose to live his life for God. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, had a vibrant take on life, and cherished time with his family and friends. Those closest to him will remember him as a gifted athlete, an eager learner, and an exemplary teammate and friend. He joyfully served with various church organizations. He was a member of the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church. Brandon died on Thursday, July 22, 2010 while enjoying God's creation with friends in the Grand Tetons National Park near Moose, Wyoming. He was 21. Blessed to have shared his life are his parents, Robert and Linda Oldenkamp of Sanborn; his brother Nathan, along with wife Summer and son Jonah of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; his brother Daniel, along with wife Angela and daughter Lillian of Lansing, Ill.; his sister Rebecca, along with her husband Terry Sol of London, Ontario, Canada; a special young woman, Katie Sparks of Newton; and many other precious family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Margaret Oldenkamp, and maternal grandfather, Harold Nieuwsma. Visitation was held Monday, July 26 from 2-8 p.m with family present from 5:30-8 p.m. Funeral service was Tuesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church.
