Robin Hood lanes offers free bowling for kids
EDMONDS, Washington (STPNS) -- For the second year in a row, Robin Hood Lanes is offering free bowling to any child 16 and below this summer. That’s right, free bowling, with no restriction or gimmicks. “There are no restrictions; any time we have open lanes, kids can bowl two games for free,” said Charlie Pascoe, who is in charge of the Junior bowling program at Robin Hood Lanes. “The whole idea is to get kids out and doing something.” The Kids Bowl Free program runs from May 1 to Sept. 5. All parents have to do to register their kids is log on to www.kidsbowlfree.com/robinhood. “They fill out the information, and they are emailed the coupons for two free games, every day, all summer long… no strings, just free bowling,” Pascoe said. “This is something that Michelle Obama got going a few years ago.” Once you are signed up, you get an email each week with coupons for free bowling. You just print them up and take them to Robin Hood Lanes with you. “No one came to us and said, ‘Do you want to do it?’ We just saw the program and knew it was a good thing.” Pascoe said the program is huge and getting bigger. “Last year, we had 1,700 kids sign up for this program,” he said. “This summer, I am shooting for 3,000. Any kid that wants to bowl can. “The whole idea is to get the kids out and doing something. It really doesn’t cost anybody anything to let these kids bowl. It’s a win-win for everyone.” Robin Hood Lanes is at 9801 Edmonds Way, Edmonds, 425-776-2101.
