Detour . . .Travelers heading west on Highway 30 will have to adjust their plans to accommodate construction detours
WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Special — If you are heading to points west on Highway 30 you will have to redirect your trip. There is a major highway project involving the intersection of Highway 30 and Pete’s Corner on Highway 59. This part of the project will bring traffic from Highway 30 into Highway 59 at a right angle, plus the former north exit from Highway 59 will be removed. During the middle of July Highway 59 has been closed to through traffic from Slayton to Highway 14, north of Garvin Corners. The road is closed to complete surface work on that portion of the project. Most intersections on that part of the project are open to crossing traffic. If you are going to Pete’s Corner, Shetek Baptist Camp or Vahalla Island follow the detour signs west of Currie on Highway 30. If you are going west on Highway 30 follow the detour signs on the west edge of Currie. Detours on Highway 30 from the east do not affect destinations on the east side of Lake Shetek including Shetek State Park.
