Man missing from French Pete Trail
MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Oregon (STPNS) -- BLUE RIVER: The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the location of James Dutton. On July 9th, the 32-year-old Eugene resident was reported as a missing person when he didn’t show up to meet family. Three weeks later, U.S. Forest Service personnel found Dutton’s vehicle near the French Pete Trail off Forest Service Road 19. Records show that Dutton filled out a Wilderness Use Permit to be on the trail through June 18th.. Lane County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) initiated a search of the French Pete trail when the vehicle was discovered. The SAR Ground Team, SAR Canine Unit, and the US Forest Service have assisted with the search. So far, officials have been unable to locate the missing man. Dutton is 5’10” with brown hair and blue eyes. The Sheriff’s Office would like anyone who has information about where he might be, or anyone who has had contact with him since July 9th, to call 541-682-4141.
