PAHRUMP, Nevada (STPNS) -- On March 23, the Nye County Sheriff?s Office S.W.A.T. team served a search warrant to Guerino Cristallo, 71 of Pahrump. The investigation was done in conjunction with the S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. Narcotics Task Force as well as the Nevada Department of Public Safety Narcotics Task Force.
The investigation began with reports of Cristallo being a high level trafficker of methamphetamine and illegally obtained prescription narcotics.
When the warrant was served, Cristallo was found with more than $12,000 in cash and 50 pre-measured bundles of what was suspected to be methamphetamine ready for sale, at an approximate value of $3,500.
Also seized from the residence were about 2,500 tablets of prescription medication, with an estimated high end value of $70,000.
Cristallo was arrested and charged with high level trafficking of methamphetamine, low level trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance for sale, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act and maintaining a residence for the purpose of selling controlled substances.
On March 23, when multiple warrants were being served on local bank accounts held by Mr. Cristallo, Cristallo and his son, Anthony Cristallo, 38 of Boston, arrived, attempting to withdraw all funds from the accounts. Both father and son were arrested and charged with obstructing, conspiracy and concealing evidence.
Further into the investigation, the Nye County Sheriff?s Office (NCSO) S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. Narcotics Task Force seized 14 vehicles, six firearms and approximately $115,000 in cash and monies.
