WESTBROOK, Minnesota (STPNS) -- Waylon Leslie Menssen Funeral services were held for Waylon Leslie Menssen Friday, March 14, 2008 at American Lutheran Church, Windom. Officiating was Pastor Michael Stangeland, organist was Karen Wojahn and vocalist was Mary Theesfeld. Casket bearers were Jeff johnson, Keith Willard, J.B. Kipfer, Ray Elston, Ed Hocke, Doug Soleta. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Windom, MN. Waylon died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Windom Area Hospital, Windom, MN. Waylon Leslie Menssen was born October 8, 2000 in Windom, MN to Maina Simich and Jonathan Menssen. Waylon attended first grade at Winfair Elementary School in Windom. Waylon enjoyed being with his dad working on small engines and riding in the road grader when his dad was grading or plowing the roads. He also enjoyed riding in the 18 wheeler hauling livestock with his dad, camping, fishing or just riding in the boat. Waylon rode his first horse when he was one year old. He road motorcycle with his dad at the age of 3 and didn?t want to get off. He would go with his dad and work on the 18 wheeler handing wrenches or a grease rag to him. One time when visiting Grandma Helen, he thought her toilet needed fixing and took off the toilet seat. Waylon liked to play cars, trucks, and dozers. He liked riding his bike, playing on the computer or video games. He also played with doors - opening and closing them. Waylon was a loving, smiling, and outgoing boy. He was our son. We?ll always love him, cherish his memories and keep him close to our hearts. Survivors include his parents, Maina Simich, Windom and Jonathan Menssen, Jeffers; four sisters, Shonte Williams, St. Paul, MN, Mary Williams, St. Paul, MN, Destiny Simich, Rochester, MN, Victoria Stainbrook, Lafayette, LA; grandparents, Sharon Larson, Windom, MN, Kenneth Menssen, Fort Collins, CO; great-grandmother, Helen Menssen, Sherburn, MN; four aunts, Mickie Menssen, Tiffney Larson, Alexis Simich, Felicia Simich; one uncle, James Menssen; and many cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Walter Menssen, Dick Sonnabend, Leslie and Helka Gunder, and Hope Simich. Elouise Lesetta Busswitz Funeral services for Elouise Lesetta Busswitz will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church, Westbrook, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Interment is in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosehill Township. Email condolences may be sent via www.westbrookfuneral.com. Elouise Lesetta Busswitz, 88, Westbrook died on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Westbrook Good Samaritan Center. Elouise Lesetta Busswitz was born May 18, 1919 in Des Moines Township to August and Bertha (Wenzel) Speckmeier. She was baptized July 20, 1919 and confirmed September 2, 1934 at Grace Lutheran Church, then known as the Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Church. She received her education in District #67 schools in Des Moines Township through the 8th grade. On February 20, 1939, Elouise was united in marriage to Howard Busswitz at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Together the couple lived on a farm in Des Moines Township until 1974 when they moved to Howard?s father?s home in Westbrook. For many years, Elouise worked on the farm, first helping her father with the farm chores and helping raise her younger siblings as her mother had died. She then helped Howard on the farm. After moving to Westbrook, Elouise worked in the meat department at Harold Schmidt?s grocery store. She then worked as a cook at the Schmidt Memorial Hospital, now Sanford Westbrook Medical Center. Elouise became a resident of the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center August 30, 2005 and remained there until her passing. Elouise was a life long member of rural Rosehill Lutheran church, now Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook where she was active in the church circles and ladies aid. Elouise belonged to the VFW ladies auxiliary and various card clubs. Elouise loved gardening, especially roses. She loved to bake and cook for others and help others any way she could. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Roger (Sharyn) Busswitz, Avoca, Gary (Mary Joan) Busswitzm Currie and Nancy (Dick) Burns, Westbrook; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Anderson, Westbrook, Lorraine Metcalf, Sarasota, FL; brother Lenhart (Shirley) Speckmeier, Dundee; sister-in-law Irene Speckmeier, Aurora, CO; brother-in-law Gene Fenstra, Willmar and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Howard, February 1, 1975; brothers: Clarence, Lester, James and Infant Vernon Speckmeier; sisters: Betty Fenstra and Irene Glasshoff.
